8/1(Mon)-8/7(Sun): Last Month and last chapter

This is the last month of my visit to Harvard. Honestly, I can't wait to return to Japan and see my family. I booked a bus from Boston to New York on 8/25.

This week, I finally started the last chapter. I am enjoying this part because this is the part I most wanted to write. I am writing about the impact of the disaster on philosophy and culture. I wrote about Hiroki Azuma, Godzilla, and the Sinking of Japan. Hayashiya's "Reconstruction Culture" written in 1973 was an interesting insight. After that, I am considering turning on Yonaha-san, a former historian who suffered from depression recently. I could not finish it so I will continue the following days.

On Wednesday, I had lunch with Prof. Gordon. I heard that the CGIS building was designed by Ieoh Ming Pei, who built the Louvre Pyramid in the Louvre Museum; there is also a pyramid behind CGIS.

And I talked with Fujiki-san, a media studies researcher. I also went to dinner with Fujiki-san and his wife and Mizuno-san. Fujiki-san lent me some disaster-related movies.

On Thursday evening, I felt a little tired, so I went to the Harvard Art Museum. It was relaxing to see so many artworks. I couldn't see all of them, so I will go there again.

On Saturday, I had dinner with Iokibe Sensei, Sarara-san, and Kara-san. On Sunday, I played tennis at Spy Pond, did some work at the office, and then went to my favorite restaurant Ittoku with Nozaki-kun, a younger Harvard fellow who graduated from Keio SFC.
